In October 2009, the “Ninth Conference of Carbon Materials” has held in Xiamen, Fujian Province. More than 180 experts and scholars from colleges and universities, research institutes and industrial sectors attended this meeting, including a representative from Germany. Prof. M. Inagaki, a well-known Japanese carbon materials scientist and honorary consultant of “New Carbon Material”, also was invited to attend this meeting.

This meeting collects 128 papers and divided into three sub-venues for communication. The content covered all aspects of the research and development of new carbon materials. It represent the latest achievements of China's carbon material research and development since the last Conference (2007).
